Born and raised in Owensboro, KY, Nick was fortunate enough to experience Owensboro’s music scene from the late 2000’s and early 2010’s. The Brothers Pizza, BBQ Fest Youth Stage, The Hatch, Boney Junes, and many others; while gone their memories have remained and helped shape his love for music. After leaving town for better than a decade, and drumming for several projects, Nick recently moved back to Owensboro in 2025 with a desire to reestablish an alternative scene to compete with the likes of any other. Beyond the music itself, playing in bands also establishes a multitude of contacts; one of which was Chris Hawks, owner of Talon Talents, who happened to recently move to town. What began as an idea for Nick to bring his music project to town for a single show has blossomed into a full-blown music scene revival. Chris and Nick both understand the fragility of the alternative music scene and share the core belief; Artists first. This core belief isn’t a simple statement; it’s an action that has left local and touring bands alike asking when they can play at that “retro arcade venue” again. Of course, none of this would be possible without YOU, our cities scene, turning out for each and every show, and for that Thank You!
Chris Hawks

Hawks got into booking shows because he was a band manager years ago. He wanted to make a difference and managing bands was the first step, during that time he was able to learn and make connections with venues and promoters through the scene. He then began building his own shows with some main venues in Louisville such as 21st In Germantown and Mag Bar. Over the years from there Hawks built a relationship with some big name bands as he was trying bigger shows. Throughout the years Hawks kept building and polishing his shows with each one helping build the Talon Talents brand. While booking bands from Kentucky, Hawks began working with Nick Martin as he believed in what Talon Talents was building and since became our Head Advisor to the company thru a shared belief of "Artists First"!
